Former WWE/WCW Superstar Reveals Tragic News in Regards to Health

Submitted by: Joren B. Apiquian

Vader, everyone’s favorite behemoth from the Rocky Mountains, revealed on Twitter that two doctors told him that he only has about two years to live. The former three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion says that the cause of his impending departure is due to a “worn out heart.” This is heartbreaking news for any longtime fan of professional wrestling. Whether he was portraying a villainous force of destruction or playing the role of a hero in WCW and WWE, Vader was a staple in the industry throughout the 1990s.

Vader also made appearances outside of pro wrestling such as playing Frankie Stechino’s father on Boy Meets World. After an illustrious career spanning several decades, Vader is surprisingly not a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. With his announcement shocking the wrestling world, he may find himself on the ballot next year. Vader was best known for his agility in the ring despite his gargantuan frame. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter named his Moonsault finisher the Best Wrestling Maneuver in 1993. Vader was also named Wrestler of the Year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated that same year. Everyone here at Geektified wishes nothing but the best for Vader and his family during this difficult time.
