“The Black Vault Part One: I Wanna be Sedated,” by Rob Williams and artist Jim Lee, starts out in such a way that you already know you're going to be in for a ride with the line, “You've never delivered the devil to hell before?” …and that fact that this is a Suicide Squad comic. Amanda Waller has gathered up her team of villains to invade another country and steal something. You see the team's reaction afterwards and their name above their panel. Personally, my favorite was “Killer Croc. Crocodile/ Man/Thing.” Poor Croc, has to go up into space to get to their mission. Harley, though, seems to be having a good time since she found a Pokecutey while on board. Being a fan of Pokemon Go, I found this reference very amusing.

Things don't get better for Croc when Waller drops them towards Russia from space. He gets sick and Flag has to break his helmet so he doesn't drown. Deadshot is asleep during all of this and wakes up as they're about to die (there's always one that falls asleep and misses all the action during a “road trip”). They crash into water and we are left not knowing who makes it out alive (of course it has to end on a cliffhanger).

This comic doesn't stop there, though. It gives us a personal file of Deadshot. Besides Harley, Deadshot is one of my favorites from Suicide Squad. In this version, Deadshot is asked by Kobra to kill Bruce Wayne in order to save his daughter. As much as I know that this was more traumatic for Deadshot's daughter in the film, I happen to prefer this version over the way the movie portrayed it, as it's more action packed.

The Verdict: After seeing Suicide Squad last week (which I thought was good), this comic did not disappoint. I want the next issue now, to see who has lived and who has not. I am also curious to see if the next issue is going to have a Personal File of another member of the squad.
