No automatic alt text available.“Another Day On Earth,” by Mark Russell and artsit Rick Leonardi, has a few comical lines. The first one that had me amused was when an alien comes to talk to Fred, Wilma, Barney, and Betty. Fred greets him like this is a normal thing and he is used to aliens just showing up while he's barbecuing. Nothing about this alarms him, or the others for that matter. If it were me, I wouldn't be trying to have a conversation with this said alien. Another line that had me amused was after Betty and Wilma go to try to sell Wilma's artwork. Betty says, “Let's go get some ham.” Now I know this is set in a different time, but I found it amusing that ham is their comfort food. In present time, us girls would be going out to get some wine or some cheesecake for comfort. Not ham.

I think anyone that enjoys the Flintstones, as both a child and or an adult, will enjoy this comic. How the comic ends though, well it should be interesting how the next one is going to start. It also shows that even though Fred shows up late to work, he's the coworker that you want to have by your side in case something happens (like it does at the end of this comic). I am sure the next comic will be just as enjoyable as this one was (along with a few more amusing lines of dialogue).

The Verdict: I enjoyed this comic and I would recommend it to anyone that likes or has liked the Flintstones in the past. I think anyone that has been a fan of the Flintstones will enjoy this and will be looking forward to the next issue.

“Buyer Beware,” by Mark Rusell and artist Steve Pugh, is a modern take on the Flintstones in comic form. Barney and Betty have just gotten one of the first televisions ever to be made. Fred thinks it's a wall demon, since he's never seen one. His reaction does make me wonder what everyone thought when the first T.V. came out and the first broadcast happened. The news anchor announces that everyone in Bedrock is buying crap: Wilma, Fred, Pebbles, Barney, and Betty are all victims of this scam.

Besides everyone in Bedrock buying crap, the First Church of Animism has someone new to look up to. An elephant named Peaches… however, while Wilma is shopping, she sees that they're worshiping a vacuum (elephants are vacuum cleaners in Bedrock). Needless to say, no one is happy about this. They come back to the church when it's announced there is a new god: it's the invisible god
. They seem to be happy with that, which is what many religions now believe in. Again, it makes you wonder: before all of these religions existed, what it was like when the first person came up with one.

The ending of this comic is my favorite, since Fred buys Dino. Dino has always been my favorite and he's just as cute in the comics as he was in the animated cartoons. I'm sure, in the next issue, Dino will be causing some trouble (like he usually does for Fred).

The Verdict: This comic definitely made me wonder what it was like for the first person to see a television or a news broadcast. It is a must read for anyone that has enjoyed The Flintstones cartoons or movies.
